Also happening in the town is Sudbury Silk Stories, a National Lottery Heritage Fund project led by Babergh District Council.  Involving all four Sudbury silk businesses, for the last 5 months project coordinator Carole Creasey has been meeting with silk mill staff past and present, to gather stories and experiences of working in this fascinating local industry.  With Offshoot Foundation, the project is capturing filmed and recorded interviews that will all come together to feature on a website being launched in September.  Clips and excerpts from the sound recordings will be used to create a short film shared with participants at the launch and screened for the public during the Silk Festival.  The film will give a glimpse behind the scenes and share some of the passion of the staff without whom the industry would not exist.  Sudbury Silk Stories is pleased to be working with two local schools, Ormiston Academy and Thomas Gainsborough School to create the film.  To find out more and to follow Sudbury Silk Stories progress please click through to www.sudburysilkstories.com
